If you’re cycling quickly enough to activate it, you probably won’t be able to avoid it, unless you know it’s coming. Also, swerving could very well mean you’ll get a flat as well, seeing how much dust and rubble there is at the edges.

I hate speed bumps, but I could get behind this kind of thing. I’ve encountered some pretty severe bumps that are maddeningly frustrating. Instead of reminding people to go the posted 25mph limit, they punish anyone going faster than 10.

Neither did the makers of the video. I’d say it’s still an improvement over the other types of speed bump though.

In its intended use, no, as they suggest speeds of 50-60 km/h, but it’s just a matter of time before municipalities start using it as ‘gates’ in subdivisions, with the limit set at 20km/h.

This post will contain bias.
Motorcycling is inherently riskier than driving a car. This is like a pothole, except you know it’s coming and you have no excuse for making it worse for yourself.
Furthermore, since I find that motorcyclists are almost always speeding, it’s fitting that they’re the biggest offenders
and
have the most at stake if they do. And that’s really motorcycling in a nutshell anyway.
